JaZz Orchestra Bruchsal

The “JaZz Orchester Bruchsal”(J.O.B.) is known far beyond its home town Bruchsal in Baden/Germany for its excellent interpretations of sophisticated jazz, latin and swing music. The 19-member group headed by Michael Schuhmacher has been heard in numerous concerts, including international guest performances for example at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival. In 2012 the orchestra was awarded a "very good" at the German Orchestra Competition, after having emerged from the preliminary round as a regional winner of Baden-Württemberg.

The repertoire of the Big Band ranges from compositions of jazz legends such as Count Basie and Duke Ellington, to contemporary works from Latin American music, jazz, soul and pop. The JOB always mix their own cocktails, giving them the special touch of their incomparable Big Band sound.

“We make it BIG!”, confesses bandleader Michael Schuhmacher and means not only the Big Band, but also the well-known guest soloists featured by the orchestra in the fifteen years of its existence. Thus, the orchestra can look back on collaborations with Edo Zanki, the greatest voice in Germany; Martin Griffith from the legendary rock band “Beggars Opera”; Brandon Goff, the composer and singer from Memphis, Tennessee; “Maas Attack“, winner of the TV show “The voice of Germany”, and many, many others.
